Updated: Aug 16, 2023
2 Individuals have made off with a pallet of collectable trading cards worth about $300,000 USD. The individuals were able to access areas that were being set up for the convention on the Wednesday before the convention opened. The police have said that the thieves got a hold of a pallet jack and grabbed the pallet of TCG cards. The cards were stolen from Pastimes Games a Chicagoland game store that was hosting events at Gen Con. The cards that were stolen were Magic Commander Master Sets and booster packs. Disney has reassured everyone that no Lorcana cards were taken in the heist. Pretty sure there are still people waiting in line for them today.
